Conflict of Interest Policy
Conflict of Interest Disclosure and Management Policy
The Journal of Pharmacovigilance and Drug Research (JPADR) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing practices.
All participants involved in the publication process—including authors, reviewers, editors, and Editorial Board members—are required to disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence, or reasonably appear to influence, their responsibilities and professional judgment.
JPADR follows the ethical recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) regarding disclosure and management of conflicts of interest.
1. Definition of Conflict of Interest

Conflicts of interest may be:
- Financial
- Academic
- Professional
- Institutional
- Personal
- Political or ideological
The existence of a conflict of interest does not necessarily prevent publication or participation in the editorial process. However, complete disclosure is mandatory to ensure transparency and informed editorial decision-making.

7. Management of Conflicts of Interest
JPADR evaluates all disclosed conflicts of interest on a case-by-case basis to ensure transparency while preserving scientific integrity.
Depending on the nature and extent of the disclosed conflict, the journal may implement one or more of the following management strategies:

- Enhanced editorial oversight.
- Replacement of reviewers or editors with conflicts.
- Editorial recusal from decision-making.
- Independent statistical or methodological review.
- Rejection of the manuscript in severe cases.
The purpose of conflict management is to maintain transparency, fairness, and confidence in the editorial process rather than automatically excluding individuals with disclosed conflicts.
8. Undisclosed Conflicts of Interest
If a conflict of interest is identified before or after publication that was not properly disclosed, JPADR may initiate an editorial investigation.
Depending on the findings, the journal may:
- Request clarification from the authors.
- Request correction of the published disclosure statement.
- Publish a Corrigendum or Erratum.
- Issue an Expression of Concern.
- Retract the published article where appropriate.
